18 year old student Sophie Hetherton will be the youngest female crew member competing in the 40,000 mile eleven month Clipper Round the World Yacht Race when she sets sail on Mission Performance – a 70ft ocean racing yacht – from St Katharine Docks, London, on September 1st.
Sophie will be sailing in support of the Contented Dementia Trust, whose SPECAL method teaches carers a unique understanding of dementia and can bring about immediate and sustainable improvements in the quality of life of the person with dementia and for everyone involved in their care.
The Contented Dementia Trust will be following Sophie’s progress closely over the coming months, and sends every good wish for a safe and successful circumnavigation of the globe. What an amazing mission!
