The 50th Anniversary of the Audley End Miniature Railway takes place on the 14th and 15th of June 2014. Plans are afoot for a weekend full of family activities – the team plans to have all Lord Braybrooke’s steam engines in action.

The 10¼” gauge Miniature Railway at Audley End was originally opened by Sir Stirling Moss on the 16 May, 1964. The Railway has been extended over the years and the track now runs for 1½ miles through the historic and beautiful woods of the Audley End Estate, making it one of the most popular visitor attractions in the area with 50,000 visitors a year passing through the gates.

Amanda Murray, one of Lord Braybrooke’s daughters, now runs the railway with a team of highly dedicated staff.  Amanda has decided that she would like to use this momentous event to raise funds for Contented Dementia Trust, with a target of £10,000.
