You may remember that last June our wonderful supporter JEZ ROSE organised The Big Weekend MakeOver – it’s hard to imagine that a year has gone by already!

More than 70 of Jez’s friends, colleagues, clients and friends of friends descended on the Trust’s headquarters at the old community hospital building in Burford, decorating the interior and clearing up the gardens. The difference was amazing, generally making the building a much nicer place to work in and to visit.

We have not stopped thanking you all and praising your efforts! 

The makeover was intended to be a one-off, but Jez has had so many of you asking if he is going to do it again this year that he thought “why not? It was SO much fun, I’m sure you’ll agree – we were fed and looked after like kings and the sense of achievement was really quite humbling… and who will ever forget Penny jumping in that skip?”

A lot has happened in the last year and most significantly, the Contented Dementia Trust has been invited to begin an ambitious research project designed to evaluate the benefits of the SPECAL approach to dementia care.

This means that the building will soon be inundated with more people, both families and healthcare professionals, attending courses and meeting at the Contented Dementia Trust’s headquarters. Those of you there last year will remember just how big the building is and how much there was still to do when we all left, despite the E-P-I-C amount we achieved!

There’s much less strenuous work to be done this time around but still plenty of gardening, repairing, tiling and painting to tackle and more improvements to be made – and yes, still some more clearing out to be done!

Refreshments, lunch and cake will be provided as last year and we’ll make sure there are plenty of tools, equipment and people, too!..

not forgetting that long list of jobs for you to pick and choose from!!

We’d like to go back and finish off the jobs we didn’t quite have time to do last year – will you join us?

Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September 2015

Jez and the Team at Burford would love for you and your friends and anyone else you can rope in to be there for as much or as little time as you can offer over the weekend.

Hopefully that (random!) date works for as many people as possible!
